Locavore Turns One, and Folklore's Throwing the Party
Locavore is celebrating its first year in Fredericksburg, and rooftop bar Folklore is hosting the bash. On Thursday, August 20, from 5–9 pm, guests can get half-price Locavore burgers and happy hour drink pricing all night, plus a live set from Chauncey Fortune. Since opening last year, Chef Daniel Perron has built a loyal following with his hyper-local, seasonally driven menu. Folklore has earned its own reputation for rooftop views and inventive drinks like the wild-ramp Forager Martini. Doors open at 5 pm.

D.C.'s Cheap Late-Night Amtrak Fares Just Got Even More Flexible
Amtrak expanded its Night Owl fares, now covering departures between 6 pm and 8 am on trains between D.C. and Boston. With Union Station just to our north, it's an easy way for FXBG-area travelers to grab a cheap weekend getaway.

Whiskey Business Returns With a Caribbean Twist, Benefiting Lifesaving CPR Programs
Whiskey Business is back on September 18 with Caribbean Nights, an island-inspired evening of premium spirits, live music, and a mission that gives back. Stafford County Opens Three New Schools This Year, Including a $139 Million High School
Stafford County Public Schools welcomed students to three brand-new schools.
Hartwood High School: capacity for 2,150 students, a $139 million, 290,000-square-foot campus on Truslow Road, with a dedicated arts, media and production specialty center
Falls Run Elementary: room for about 1,070 students at its new home on Stafford Plaza Drive in Fredericksburg
Crow's Nest Elementary: also room for about 1,070 students, located next to Brooke Point High School in the Aquia district
Both elementary schools are opening under capacity as part of the county's plan to ease overcrowding and rebalance school boundaries
