When government shutdowns threaten to leave veterans without support, the Stafford community is stepping up. Three local small businesses are teaming up this Veterans Day to show appreciation for those who served—with haircuts, coffee, and baked goods all designed to say "thank you."
77 Barbershop is leading the charge with 50% off haircuts for all veterans with valid ID on November 11th from 9am to 2pm. But they're not stopping there.
"This year, we wanted to give back to our veterans, especially with the shutdown," said the team at 77 Barbershop. "We knew we could make a bigger impact by partnering with other veteran-supporting businesses in our community."
Enter Nube Coffee and Batch Slapped, two fellow Stafford small businesses who immediately jumped on board. Nube Coffee is providing a selection of free coffee drinks to every veteran who gets a haircut that day, while Batch Slapped—a veteran-owned bakery—is donating fresh baked goods to treat the veterans who stop by.
The collaboration highlights what makes small business communities special: when one steps up, others follow.
"It's about more than just a haircut or a cup of coffee," the businesses shared. "It's about creating a moment where veterans feel seen, appreciated, and supported—especially during uncertain times."
The event runs from 9am to 2pm at 77 Barbershop, and veterans are encouraged to book appointments in advance at staffordhaircut.com, though walk-ins are welcome based on availability.
With all branches of the military represented—Navy, Army, Coast Guard, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Space Force—the event is open to all who have served.
In a time when federal support may be uncertain, Stafford's small business community is proving that local support never wavers. This Veterans Day, three businesses are turning gratitude into action—one haircut, one coffee, and one baked good at a time.
Veterans interested in participating can book online at staffordhaircut.com or call 77 Barbershop directly. Valid military ID required.
