Hey neighbors!
A few weeks ago I got a behind the scenes look at Bloomia's growing operation right here in King George County and I am not exaggerating when I say it stopped me in my tracks. The largest cut tulip producer in the entire United States is in our backyard. And most of us had no idea.
Now for the very first time they are opening their fields to the public. One million tulips. Pick your own bouquet. Food trucks, live music, local breweries, and the kind of spring afternoon you will be talking about for years.
Tickets are open. Here is everything you need to know.
Let's get into it!

A Million Tulips. One Field.🌷
You know that feeling when you discover something incredible has been right under your nose the whole time? That is exactly what this is.
Bloomia has been growing right outside Fredericksburg in King George County since 2012, quietly producing around 120 million tulip stems every year for retailers like Whole Foods, Wegmans, and Publix. They are the largest cut flower tulip producer in the entire United States. And most of us had absolutely no idea.
This April, for the very first time, they are throwing open the gates and inviting us in.
Think one million tulips in full bloom across seven acres, your own bouquet to pick and take home, live music floating across the fields, food trucks, local craft beer, and the kind of spring afternoon that makes you want to turn your phone off and just be present. There will even be floral design workshops led by renowned designer Kelly Shore of Petals by the Shore, who will show you how to arrange your freshly picked tulips. It is going to be stunning.
"We have been growing tulips in our greenhouse facility in Virginia for years, but there is something truly magical about seeing a million of them in bloom all at once," says Bloomia CEO Werner Jansen, who grew up in the Netherlands. "We wanted to create an event that celebrates the arrival of spring and allows our community to experience the beauty of the farm firsthand."
