When Mason first joined The Knowledge Exchange, he was a quiet player at the table. Over time, through storytelling, teamwork, and encouragement, he grew into a confident leader—today, he serves as an enrichment instructor, helping guide others on their own journeys. Stories like his—and students like Adriana, whose confidence and academic growth flourished with consistent support—are at the heart of what TKE is building: spaces where young people feel seen, capable, and inspired to grow.

This spring and summer, The Knowledge Exchange (TKE) invites the community to be part of that journey through a lineup of experiences that blend creativity, connection, and real academic impact.

Trivia for a Cause— April 8th

TKE is teaming up with Go Local FXBG to host a FREE Party Trivia for a Cause night on April 8th at Brock’s Riverside Grill from 6–8 PM.

Guests can expect an energetic evening featuring a $100 gift card prize for the winning team, a 50/50 raffle, and additional giveaways including TKE merchandise and service vouchers. Proceeds from the event will directly support TKE’s educational programming for local youth.

“It’s a really fun, community-centered event with a meaningful cause behind it,” says Maija Penn, Co-Founder and CEO.

A Summer Camp Unlike Any Other

For students ready to step into a world of imagination, TKE’s RPG: Rising Legends Summer Adventure Camp offers a one-of-a-kind experience rooted in storytelling, teamwork, and personal growth.

Hosted in partnership with Moose Lodge #1655, which has generously donated space for the summer, the camp uses Dungeons & Dragons-style role-play to foster social-emotional development, creative problem-solving, and academic enrichment.

“We don’t just teach content—we build courage, belonging, and purpose,” Penn shares.

Two camp tracks are available:

  • Lorecrafter Camp (Ages 7-11): Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10am- 1pm

  • Fate N’ Fable (Ages 12-18): Mondays & Wednesdays, 10am- 1pm

Each week includes guided D&D-themed adventures, STEAM or Improv activities, a camp shirt, and snacks—all for $80. Spots are limited.

More Than Summer: Year-Round Learning & D&D Enrichment

Beyond seasonal offerings, TKE provides year-round tutoring for all subjects and ages, along with personalized support in executive functioning and academic confidence.

A cornerstone of their programming is their 10-week Dungeons & Dragons enrichment seasons, which run throughout the year for youth ages 11–18, as well as an adult group (18+). These structured, facilitator-led experiences use collaborative storytelling and role-play to help participants build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and develop social-emotional awareness in a supportive, engaging environment.

A Community Build on Transformation

The Knowledge Exchange is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2020 in response to growing educational inequities. Since then, the organization has served over 100 learners—many with learning differences—and contributed more than 10,000 volunteer hours to program development and mentorship.

TKE was voted Best Tutoring Service in Best of the Burg in 2021 and 2022. With 2026 voting opening April 1st, we’d love the community’s support again this year!

Penn’s vision remains clear: “Light the path to lifelong learning.”

This spring and summer, TKE is doing just that—bringing learning to life through connection, creativity, and community.
