Bend and Snap! Legally Blonde Comes to Life Right Here in Spotsylvania
Elle Woods and her trusty sidekick Bruiser are taking the stage at Spotsylvania High School, and only two performances remain: tonight at 7:30 and tomorrow at 2:00. DanceXpressions Performing Arts Center presents Legally Blonde Jr., the Musical, a fun-filled, family-friendly production celebrating Elle's adventures and the show's 25th anniversary. This one is a true community event, brought to life by a pre-professional cast of talented youth and teens from Orange, Culpeper, and Spotsylvania. Whether it's date night, a girls' night out, or a little treat for yourself, there's nothing quite like singing along with Elle and friends in your own backyard.

Do a Double Take: Locavore's Bold New Cocktail Lineup Has Arrived
Chef Daniel Perron is known for reimagining seasonal ingredients, and his latest cocktail menu at Locavore and Folklore in historic Fredericksburg does exactly that. The new lineup is full of double-take-worthy pours: the Seoul Sunrise brings together tequila, strawberry, gochujang, and a togarashi rim, while the Verbena Palmer pairs Earl Grey-infused vodka with lemon verbena and sweet tea syrup. You'll also find a Counterpoint Sour with bourbon and Averna Amaro, a Folklore Caipirinha, fresh-squeezed Orange Crushes, and the Forager Martini, a seasonal specialty featuring wild-foraged pickled ramps that won't be around much longer. Two showstoppers debut this weekend: a Caviar Rimmed Martini finished with premium caviar from Marshallberg Farm, and a Grilled Pork Belly Old Fashioned that puts a savory spin on the classic.

If your kids have ever wondered what happens in a museum after the lights go out, here's their chance to find out. Smithsonian Associates is hosting overnight Sleepovers this summer for children ages 8 to 14 and their adult chaperones, and it's every bit as magical as the movies make it look. At the National Museum of Natural History, families wander galleries filled with ocean life, pollinators, and the looming shadows of dinosaurs while completing a "Game of Survival" that includes building your own dino and making an underwater fossil. Over at the National Museum of American History, guests celebrate the country's 250th birthday with an "All-American Road Trip" through the galleries, complete with classic car games and a walk through the museum's newest exhibit. Each sleepover is built around guided games, crafts, and hands-on challenges, and for many families in our area, it's become a yearly tradition worth the drive.
