Hey neighbor,
Labor Day weekend kicks off this Friday, September 4 and runs through Monday, September 7, so we built you a full guide before it gets here, covering all five of our communities. There's also a Southern Virginia winemaker coming to Cork & Table, and the FredNats are closing out their season with one last homestand.
Let's get into it.

🌅 A Long Weekend You've Earned
The kids are back in school, the fall calendar is filling up, and you could use a breather. Good news: Labor Day weekend runs Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7. Four days to catch your breath and enjoy the last stretch of warm weather before fall takes over.
So we built you a plan. Our Labor Day Weekend Guide covers all five of our communities, Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, and King George, with real events, farmers markets, and things to do in every corner of the region.
A few ways to spend it:
Kick things off at First Friday downtown on the 4th, with shops open late and music on Caroline Street.
Shop local Saturday morning. It is farmers market day in communities, from Hurkamp Park to Bowling Green to King George.
Squeeze in one more day on the water at Lake Anna, Widewater, or along the Rappahannock.
Spot bald eagles at Caledon State Park, or chase roller coasters down at Kings Dominion.
Fire up the grill and grab a new bite from one of the spots in our food scene guide.
And do not get caught off guard: we have the Monday closures, trash pickup delays, and holiday hours rounded up too.
However you spend it, make it a good one. You have earned the long weekend.

A Southern Virginia Winemaker Is Coming to Cork & Table for One Night Only
Cork & Table in historic downtown Fredericksburg is hosting an exclusive autumn wine dinner on Wednesday, October 7 at 6:30 pm, with Justin Rose, head winemaker of Rosemont Winery in LaCrosse, Virginia, as the guest of honor. Rose will walk guests through a curated lineup of Rosemont's estate wines while sharing the story behind Southern Virginia's terroir and the winery's sustainable growing practices.
Cork & Table's kitchen has built a multi-course menu around the wines, using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients to match everything from crisp whites to bold estate reds. Chef/Owner Jim Fallon said the goal is a dinner where every dish elevates the glass next to it.
Seating is limited to keep the evening intimate, and reservations are required.
