Virginia is home to seven stunning lavender farms open to visitors and the closest one to Fredericksburg is Seven Oaks Lavender Farm in Catlett, Virginia, just a short drive away. Their summer season opens May 30th and runs through July 12th. If you have been meaning to get to the Messick's Farm Market Strawberry Festival, now is the time. There are only two weekends left, and this one is worth putting on the calendar. Strawberry picking, barrel train rides, hayrides, a zipline, a petting zoo, kid tattoos, a candy cannon, and fresh strawberry treats.
