Hey neighbor! 👋
Mark your calendar for October 18: Loisann's Hope House and Olde Towne Butcher are teaming up for the Burger Battle at Riverfront Park, with slider tastings from six downtown favorites, two drink tickets, live music, and every ticket supporting local families right here in our community. If you're looking for something sooner, Ristorante Renato's Sip for a Cause wine dinner is October 11, five courses paired with Caymus wines, with $50 of every ticket going to Spreading Smiles. And if you'd rather spend your weekend outdoors, I'd point you to Simply Sprouts Farm in Spotsylvania, a pumpkin patch on land that's been in one family since the 1700s. It's a good one.

Have You Heard of Simply Sprouts Farm? Meet Spotsylvania's Hidden Gem 🎃
Some farms have a story. Simply Sprouts Farm in Spotsylvania has more than two centuries of them.
The land dates back over 200 years, when it was granted to the Coleman family by the King of England. Known for generations as Alta Vista Farm, it was a working cattle and tree farm for most of its history. John Coleman's parents ran the cattle farm for years, and when John inherited his portion of the land, he decided to take it in a new direction.
He named it Simply Sprouts Farm after the large family garden the Colemans had grown for years, and three years ago he started planting pumpkins and vegetables.
The first year was a big success. Simply Sprouts provided thousands of pumpkins to local festivals and hosted its first pick-your-own event. Then came year two, and a severe drought wiped out the crop.
Instead of giving up, the Colemans installed an irrigation system. This fall, their pumpkins, flowers, gourds, and corn are shaping up to be their best crop yet.
