Lights, Camera, Fredericksburg: The Film Festival Returns
Calling all movie lovers! The Fredericksburg Film Festival is back June 25 through 28, and this year is the biggest yet. The festival will showcase over 70 independent films, along with panels, workshops, and social mixers, with screenings held all over downtown Fredericksburg. It's a wonderful way to discover bold new storytelling, mingle with filmmakers, and experience our historic downtown in a whole new light. Individual tickets are on sale now, or you can grab a VIP pass for access to every screening, happy hour, and panel.

The Country's Largest Indoor Slide Park Just Opened Up the Road

Ways to Celebrate Juneteenth Around Fredericksburg
Juneteenth is tomorrow, Friday, June 19, and our community has some beautiful ways to honor the day.
✊🏾 Stafford County NAACP's 5th Annual Juneteenth Commemoration & Celebration (June 19-20): This free, two-day celebration at Colonial Forge High School (550 Courthouse Road, Stafford) opens Friday with a Tribute in Light & Legacy, then continues Saturday with a parade at 9:30 AM and a full Day of Celebration from 10 AM to 5 PM. Expect live music, guest speakers, cultural performances, historical reenactments, a vendor marketplace, youth activities, a classic vehicle showcase, and soul food vendors like DoveShack's Smoked BBQ.
📖 Juneteenth: Celebrate the Storytellers (June 19): Head to Market Square (909 Princess Anne St) from 12 to 5 PM for this free, family-friendly event hosted by Eunice Haigler. Meet local Black authors, hear from guest speakers, and explore the Fredericksburg Area Museum's Living Legacies exhibition, which highlights stories of emancipation and resilience.
🏛️ Living History at the Fredericksburg Area Museum: The museum is a heart of our community's tributes to Black heritage. Stop in to view artifacts and exhibits celebrating African American contributions to Virginia and the nation.
🎮 Pride x Juneteenth at Reclaim Arcade (June 19): For a different kind of celebration, this gothic-themed arcade event at 2324 Plank Rd features a guest DJ and a full dinner menu.
